• A little bit about myself, so that you will have an idea who is doing the program and where it is coming from

    • I live with my wife Lisa, and our 5 children in Seminole TX where I am a pastor at Countryside Mennonite Church

    • I am also a highschool teacher and enjoy doing prison ministry here at a prison that is about 45 minutes away in Lamesa TX.

      • It is a wonderful thing to see God changing the lives of prisoners – people that thought they had no hope, everything is dark for them, their life is full of problems, and then they surrender their life to Christ. God changes everything in their life, He gives them Joy and Peace, and God even gives them success.

    • I did not grow up in Seminole Tx, but grew up in Winkler MB Canada, about 1500 miles away, where it is much colder, and much prettier than where we live now.

      • My parents are Abe & Martha Heppner. I was so blessed to grow up a in Christian home, along with 1 brother, and 2 sisters

        • A home where the Bible was read and Bible stories were shared

        • A home where we took 10 minutes every morning to do Bible memory

        • A home where we sang a lot, and I learnt what it was worth to praise the Lord at a young age

        • A home where my dad become a pastor when I was 11 years old

      • All these things, regardless of how good they were, were not enough to save me

        • I was still a sinner, not nearly good enough for God’s perfect standards, and I needed to give him my heart and my life, and repent of my sins

      • And when I was about 12, I did this. I gave my heart to the Lord, I repented of my sins

        • I did have many struggles in my teenage years, from about 12-18, on the assurance of Salvation

        • The idea that I still made mistakes, I still fell into sin – was I really a child of God then?

        • I struggled with this, but was able to make a break through when I was about 18 years old. God loved me, and his love is not conditional on my being perfect. I could know that I was saved. Even when I made mistakes and sinned. I repented of these sins, so that my relationship with God would be strengthened, but not as a condition of my salvation.

      • I was baptised shortly after this in the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, on the confession of my faith, by Bishop Peter Heppner, who is my Uncle

      • I married my wife Lisa, who grew up in Hague SK, on August 12, 2000, and we moved to Seminole TX after we were married, to teach in the Old Colony Mennonite School for 2 years

        • These were blessed years, where we were able to teach students, but also learn ourselves, and I especially learnt and improved in the German language, which I am thankful to God for today.

      • We moved back to Saskatchewan for 5 years, where I took my University to be a Teacher, and after that, with it being hard to find a teaching job in that area, we moved back to Seminole TX and have been here for the last 13 years, in which time God called me into service as a minister.

    • We are thankful for God’s leading and guidance in our lives, and that he has brought us to this place, and that we have many different opportunities to serve him, including this opportunity with the Gospel Message

    • I believe Jesus Christ is coming back soon, so we need to make sure to use the time of Grace that we have now to serve Him, and make the message of the gospel clear so that all can hear and accept this free gift of Salvation that we have through His sacrifice on the cross.

    • I do not tell you all these things about me because I am an important person, but that you get to know me a little bit, and hopefully get encouraged and strengthened through the Word of God on these Radio broadcasts

    • Our goal at The Gospel Message is to share the Gospel with those that are lost, and encourage and teach those that are saved, all through the Word of God, and all to the praise and honor and Glory of God.

    • We really appreciate you staying in contact with us through mail.
